On the board and on the wall
Live bait first, then the jigs that come back bent, then ice so the herring survives the ride.
Same board as the front page. We update it when a tank gets thin, not at the end of the day.

The crappie minnow. Frisky this morning, and the tank was topped off before daylight.

For bream in the knees. A full tube, not a sad handful at the bottom.

Good for shellcracker and a slow bass bite. We're light — one dozen per boat if it's busy.

Cut fresh for blue cats. Keep it on ice in the boat. It turns if you leave it in the sun.

Live blueback for cats and the striper folks passing through. Low today. Text before you count on a dozen.
Bass, crappie, and catfish. Nothing with a catalog speech. If it doesn't work in the stumps, it doesn't get a peg.

Weedless 3/8 oz flipping jigs. Black-and-blue for stained water, green pumpkin when the sun gets up. Pitch them to the knees and let them sit.

A Texas-rigged creature bait, hook and weight already on. For the same stumps, when they won't eat the jig.

A pair — one chartreuse, one white — plus a slip float. Both jigs are in the tray. Brush in 12 to 18 feet.

Circle hook, short leader, swivel, and an egg sinker. The whole rig, ready to tie on. Anchor. Don't drift the stumps.
Grab them on the way out. The block ice is for bait. The bag is for people.

The bag chills the drinks. The block keeps herring honest until lunch. Both are in the box by the door.

Sweet tea in the bottle and a paper sack of snacks for the boat. Nothing fancy. You came for bait.
